THE ANC fell for a gpolitical stunth by using bricks and petrol bombs to repel a DA pre-election march in central Johannesburg yesterday, commentators say.

Police formed a human barrier between supporters of the rival parties and arrested four people for public violence. They fired stun grenades to disperse ANC supporters who pelted them with stones and petrol bombs.

The DA’s plan to march within one block of the ANC’s headquarters, Luthuli House, was foiled as 8 000 marchers were U-turned by police to prevent a direct clash with about 15 000 ANC supporters.

You can seriously see that the DA is the party of the future for South Africa and that the ANC is threatened.Violent behaviour(petrol bombs!and stones) and undermining other south african right to be heard is not a good way to go forward for our country. We need change!

ANC running scared and are feeling threatened by the DA.
Shame on you ANC for holding an illegal march on the same day and at the same time as the DA. this clearly shows that the ANC wanted confrontation to take place. then they made the whole situation worse by attacking the DA members with no provication from the DA.
who was arrested for public violence? certainly not the DA.
if it was not such a serious matter it would be hilarious.
pity the police did not arrest all the illegal marches as they should have. the DA behaved and just took another route and proved a point. well done DA.
people look at the ANc’s behaviour, do you realy want this type to be in charge of running the country you live in. we need a good strong uncorrupt party (whoever this is)to be in charge. the ANC has proved time and time again it is not them. Dallas
