TRUE to his generous spirit, former president Nelson Mandela ensured each of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren would be looked after, with almost R20-million of his estate left to them.

Mandela, known for his love for his family and children in general, left money for his own clan as well as that of his third wife, Graca Machel.

His will revealed that he left about R19.8-million to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepchildren.

Machel's children, Josina and Malengane, each get R3-million.

For each of his grandsons Mandla, Ndaba, Mbuso and Andile from his late son, Makgato, Mandela left R3.7-million. However, grandchildren born of his daughters received just R100000 each.

Mandela left inheritances for Machel's six stepchildren from her late husband Samora Machel's first marriage to the tune of R100000 each.
