Motorist helps nab suspect

A SECOND suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman whose body was found dumped along the N2 in the Storms River area.

Ina Marincowitz's body was found in bush along the N2 on Monday night. Police found her car, a Chevrolet Spark, on its roof several kilometres away.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the car after it rolled following a chase by police. The driver fled. Police suspect two men abducted Marincowitz and strangled her before dumping her body in the bushes.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei said a 32- year-old man, believed to be the driver, was arrested yesterday after a motorist picked him up while he was hitchhiking.

"The man recognised him as being the man wanted in connection with Marincowitz's murder. He was taken to the police station," Seekoei said.

The men allegedly abducted Marincowitz – who recently moved to Storms River from Cape Town – from her home, killed her and dumped her body before crashing her car.

The 32-year-old is expected to appear in the Storms River Magistrate's Court today and the other suspect when he is discharged from hospital. – Gareth Wilson
