Dumped bodies: trial to resume

THE case against four men accused of a brutal double murder in which the bodies were dumped along Marine Drive two years ago will continue at the Port Elizabeth High Court today.

Andrico "Boeta" Williams, 23, of Cleary Estate, Shannon Mopp, 25, of Bethelsdorp, Junaid "Pang" van Vught, 27, and Justin Najoe, 22, of Bloemendal, are charged with murder, armed robbery, kidnapping and the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The state alleges the men kidnapped Owen Demingo and Sarah-Jane Oliphant from the Bloemendal Community Centre in the early hours of January 29 2011, forcing them into the boot of Demingo's car. The pair were allegedly robbed of several items, and forced to withdraw money from an ATM before being executed and their bodies dumped.

The bodies of Oliphant, 22, of Bethelsdorp, and Demingo, 31, of Palmridge, were found 8.7km apart by passing cyclists shortly after 5.30am.
