Tavern owner returns goodwill

"THE giving hand is more blessed than the receiving hand,” said the very happy elders from Weston, after they received food parcels from a local tavern owner Pasman Mkhawzana and his wife Nozolile last Saturday.
"I have been thinking of doing something like this for a long time,” said Nozolile.
Local churches have been benefiting from proceeds from an annual Christmas party she and her husband have been hosting and regular donations for quite some time, she says.
"We have done so much for the community, especially the younger generation, but today is all about our older generation,” said a smiling Nozolile.
” I am very happy about today because it shows that this tavern is more than just a tavern,” Mvimbeli, one of the elderly people, said. The VIPs of the day couldn't contain their feelings as they danced with joy when they received the food parcel and blankets.
"It is winter and we don't want to see our grandmothers getting cold,” said Nozolile.
Pasman, who is usually not a man of many words, was so overcome with emotion he could hardly speak. He thanked the community for their support saying: "I am very happy that we have done this. Now the gogos know that we have not forgotten them.”
