Residents fed up

RESIDENTS of Tjoksville in Jeffreys Bay expressed their anger at the national policy of releasing prisoners by marching to the local police station last week.
This was after two men gained entry to one of the shacks and allegedly attacked and robbed the occupants. One of the homeowners said she was outside when the men got into her house.
"I heard my sister scream inside and called the neighbours.”
Another resident said one of the men held a knife against her throat.
"The men were nervous and one of them knocked over my child,” she said showing a bruise on her hand where the man allegedly hit her.
"When I screamed he hit me with the knife,” she said.
"We want them back in jail.”
The suspects were identified as Owen Afrikaner, 24, and Hagan Peoros, 25, from Pellsrus.
They were arrested on July 9 due to an unrelated incident in which they robbed a man of his Puma watch.
Police say the incident occurred while they were on their way to court.
The men appeared in the Humansdorp Court on July 11 and the case was postponed until today.
