Pupils show off their theatrical abilities

THE pupils at Bathurst Primary School’s prize giving impressed their parents with their musical and theatrical abilities before being rewarded for outstanding work during the year, at their prizegiving held at the Bathurst Agricultural Showgrounds last Friday.

First the Grade 1 and 2 classes put on a nativity play with pupils playing Mary, Joseph, the three wise men and three angels with the rest of the children making up the choir.

They sang a variety of festive songs including Once in Royal David’s City, I See the Moon, O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Nightand We Wish You a Merry Christmas.


CONGRATS: Bathurst Primary School held their prize giving last Friday and pupils were rewarded for their good work. The Grade 3 and 4 classes put on puppet shows which they had adapted from Goldilocks and The Three Little Pigs. Afterwards just the Grade 3 and 4 girls did some traditional dancing before Grade 5s and 6s put on plays of their own.

The Grade Rs endeared themselves to everyone at the prize giving as soon as they arrived on stage in their gowns and caps. Each child who will be going into Grade 1 next year received a certificate.

Prizes were then handed out to each grade for achievements like high standard of work, neatness, attendance, diligence, dependability, good behaviour and drama.
