Nomzamo debaters tops in Ndlambe

NOMZAMO Secondary School debaters proved they have the gift of the gab when they recently won a debating competition among Ndlambe schools.

The debate, organised by Ndlambe municipality's traffic department, was held in Kenton-on-Sea on September 19.

Nomzamo competed against other schools in the Ndlambe area, including Ikamvalesizwe High School (Kenton-on-Sea), and Ukhanyo High School (Alexandria) and Velile High School (Bathurst).

The discussion topic for the day was, "Education is more important than law enforcement in the reduction of road collision in South Africa”.

Nomzamo were the proposing team in the final and won the debate against Velile.

Nomzamo teacher Lwazikazi Stamper said the best speakers in the competition were given a prize which helps encourage and motivate them to become better debaters.

Noluvo Mbabela from Nomzamo won an award for best second speaker.

Nomzamo will now represent Ndlambe municipality in the district competition in Port Elizabeth on October 10.
