New foster homes for Humansdorp

IMPOVERISHED and abandoned children in Humansdorp will soon have a place to call home.

The pressing need for foster care in Humansdorp led the Victory4All Project Founders to launch the R2-million project.

The building of the three foster homes in Kruisfontein, Humansdorp started in May and is expected to be completed next month.

Project founder Johan Vos said many children lived in extreme poverty-stricken circumstances.

Alcohol and drug abuse were mentioned as factors that contributed to many parents abandoning their children.

The foster homes are designed to accommodate a maximum of six children each.

The homes will also be called foster care-cum-homes for disabled children.

The homes will accommodate foster-care children who were statutory placed and children with disabilities, not necessarily placed by a social workers in terms of a court ruling.

Victory4All is currently looking for suitable people to be foster parents. Interested parties must be about 50 years.

Those wanting to apply for the position can write a letter to: Governing Body, V4All Projects, PO Box 2444 Jeffreys Bay, 6331 (Attention: Mr J. Vos).

In recent years, Victory4All has built four foster homes in Jeffreys Bay.
