ON Eagles Wings Ministries in Duine Road in Pellsrus has a new counsellor, Pastor Marinda Conradie.
She has taken over the counselling from Avril Brunsdon, retired psychologist who is moving out of Jeffreys Bay.
Previously, traumatologist Maryke Pretorius, who is now involved with the Jeffreys Bay Police trauma centre as well as the CPF, counselled at the centre.
Conradie is available on Thursdays, as she has a private practice and ministry in Jeffreys Bay.
Founder of On Eagles Wings in Jeffreys Bay, Pastor Mercy Cwayi, says that they aim to concentrate on helping those who battle with relationship issues and marriages this year. The organisation assists abused women and children.
Couples, as well as individuals, can get counselling at On Eagles Wings. They will have support groups which will do follow-ups after counselling is completed. The team is also planning future workshops in the community.
Cwayi says that these days there is a lot of pressure on relationships and families. Children are rebellious and that puts a strain on marriages and relationships.
"Parents must realise that children follow their example. If they do not set a good example regarding alcohol and/or drug abuse, etc, the children will follow suit,” says Cwayi.
"We want to build strong families and relationships in our community”.
On Eagles Wings aims to restore wholeness and develop families in the Jeffreys Bay and Kouga region communities by igniting dreams, instilling courage and bringing hope, while restoring self-esteem and self-worth.
