THE call is out for girls between 17 and 25 to enter the Miss Port Alfred 2012 contest.
The competition is open to entrants from Ndlambe and Makana and the winner will serve as the representative of the Port Alfred Lions Club and Talk of the Town for the duration of her reign.
Miss Port Alfred is a charity fundraiser for Lions service projects across Ndlambe, from donating meals to the underprivileged to the Lions Bright Sight project, which provides free eye exams and spectacles to those who cannot afford them.
Lions will approach local businesses to sponsor prizes and other aspects of the pageant, which will be held at Port Alfred High School on July 14. There will be a swimwear, casual wear and formal wear section.
The closing date for entries is June 22. Entrants will have to be available for preliminary rounds and rehearsals for the pageant.
