THE Kouga Legends soccer team will be throwing their weight behind the Kouga Local Football Association (KLFA) during the 2012/13 season.
They kick off their campaign this Saturday when they will be attempting to hone their skills by going head to head with their counterparts from New Brighton.
"We are all very active and experienced soccer players,” said co-cordinator Titi Moloi.
For various reasons the team has not been affiliated with the KLFA, but Moloi said they are now wanting to put the past behind them and move forward in full support of the association.
"The team is very keen to become involved and to pass on our expertise,” he said, adding that they will be playing a role in an advisory capacity, and also intend hosting soccer clinics.
This weekend's game against the New Brighton Legends will take place in New Brighton and kickoff is at 11am.
Meanwhile the Kouga Local Football Association is hosting two shows this coming weekend.
One will be held on Friday in Vusumzi Landu Community Hall in Hankey, and the other at Greenbushes on Saturday.
KLFA secretary Mongezi Khatshiwe said the bashes are to raise funds for the prize-giving function next month.
The big drawcard at both shows will be Mboza.
Khatshiwe said organisers wanted to give local artists a chance to perform in front of their home crowds but the offer had been turned down because they refused to perform for free.
Entrance will be R5 and R10 respectively.
The events at both venues start at 6pm.
