Legends host opening of season

THE Kouga Legends Football Association (KLFA) will be hosting a sport day to mark the opening of the season at the Humansdorp Sport fields on Saturday February 25.
Soccer and netball coordinator Titi Moloi says everyone is fired up and looking forward to this fun-filled day. Urging Kouga's councilors and other dignitaries to attend, Moloi said only when the big wigs support the local soccer matches will the game achieve the status it enjoys in the surrounding areas.
The KFL was established in 2010 when it was felt that players who could no longer perform in the regular league needed to still be active. "Their expertise and knowledge is too valuable to lose. This way we can still plough back into the game.”
"The main event of the day will see the Kouga Legends and their counterparts from the Kareedouw Football Club go head to head. These two teams always cause a stir when they play against each other.”
The game is set to start at 2pm. At 12pm the new sponsor, Ubuntu Bricks, will hand over KLFA's brand new kits.
Humansdorp's junior team will take on the junior team from Jeffreys Bay at 10am while various netball matches will be played throughout the day.
All this will culminate in the party of all parties at the end of the last game.
"This after party will carry-on until very late with a DJ and lots of fun music.”
