OWNER of Frank's on the Wharf, Robin Hyde, together with his father-in-law, Russell Deutschmann, were delighted to learn they will be competing in the preliminary round of the Ultimate Braaimaster competition on March 16 in Port Elizabeth. Their team is appropriately named "The In-Laws”.

In order to be selected, they had to complete an exhaustive questionnaire, with questions like "What can not be put on a braai” – Robin's answer……..”My mother-in-law!” They also had to describe the dishes they will braai and present to the judges on the day. These are mussels served in a butter sauce, and a venison loin with green peppercorn sauce, served with roasted vegetables. They would not be drawn on their dessert, other than to say that shall remain a secret..
