Guidance to teens

TEENAGE girls in Jeffreys Bay are being empowered by a new initiative aimed at educating them about their identities and

their self-worth.
The initiative is the brainchild of

Purity Avenue Ministry directer

Puleng Mamabolo.
The ministry visited Makukhanye and Pellsrus Primary School last week.
Mamabolo said having been a teenage girl herself once, she knew first-hand that some teenage girls struggled with their own personal identities.
"This struggle often results in them making a series of bad decisions that could cause permanent damage in their lives.”
Mamabolo said the

Purity Avenue Ministry strove to instill aimed at instilling "godly values”, in order to live a pure lifestyle.
The aim is also to teach young girls to discover themselves and encourage them to pursue their dreams and educate themselves.
"A strong sense of identity will help them stay focused on their studies and dreams.”
Mamabolo said making the right decisions would decrease teenage pregnancies, HIV infections and premature deaths.
"We will have an educated society that will assist in alleviating poverty,” she said.
At the launch,

young girls had the chance

to hear some of the older women share their own life stories.
The ministry meets every Saturday at Ithemba Family Church in Tokyo Sexwale Township from 2pm to 4pm. 14:00- 16:00 pm.
Teenage girls and parents are invited to attend.
