Fun for all at food fest

FUN and excitement for the entire family. That is what the organisers of the Nelson Mandela Bay Food, Wine and Cheese festival are aiming to achieve when the festival takes place on the DF Malherbe School grounds in Walmer Park, PE from Thursday, March 29 till Sunday, April 1.
A host of fun-filled, exciting and culinary educational activities and performances are planned to entertain the kids, mom and dad and granny and grandpa too.
For the kids a soft-play kid zone including baseball simulators and archery will be set up while some of South Africa's best celebrity chefs and food experts will dazzle all foodies with cooking demonstrations and food and wine pairing shows.
A kids and junior master chef competition with big prizes will be held and all youngsters who love pottering around the kitchen and fancy their culinary prowess may enter.
Over 200 stalls will be exhibiting and offering some of the country's finest wines, cheese, exotic food and other delicacies. Come and browse around the arts and crafts, toys for boys and goodies for girls exhibition tent and purchase something special for the one you love.
Experience the Checkers food tour and taste their quality range of wines, cheeses, championship boerewors and fine meats. Some of the best local artists including the Stuart Reece Band, Shweet, Gino Lee, Claire Venn and Allan Kozak, as well as national artists Amor Vitonne and Arno Jordaan will perform in the giant hospitality tent.
Saturday's Super Rugby matches will be broadcast on the big screen as the Stormers clash with the Bulls.
Enter the Cerebos Potjiekos competition if you think you have what it takes to be crowned the NMB Potjiekos King or Queen. Algoa FM will broadcast live from the festival so come and meet Lance du Plessis and Charl Leslie and join in the fun and celebrations.
