ORGANISERS were forced to postpone the finals of the Kouga Local Football Association's tournament for the promotion league teams at the Country Club Stadium and Tshalala Field KwaNomzamo in Humansdorp on Saturday and Sunday.
The match between the Western Warriors and Juventus AFC had to be postponed as there are no floodlights at any of the stadiums. It will now be played at 3pm at the Humansdorp Country Club this Sunday.
The teams are competing for R1200, a trophy and a place in the Uvimba tournament on March 24 and 25 in Jeffreys Bay.
The first prize in this tourney carries a purse of almost R8 000.
Last weekend's tournament was the highlight in the association's weekend programme as all the teams in the Premier League had a bye.
All the matches were keenly contested.
Western Warriors' road to the final was not easy.
In the first round they beat Soccer for Life 3-0. They won their second match against Black Vultures' second team 5-4 on penalties after they were tied at 1-1.
In the semi-finals they scored an easy 4-0 win over Hankey neighbours Swallows FC.
Juventus had almost an identical path to the finals.
They beat Peace Lovers 2-0 in their opening game and then ousted Mighty Heroes 5-4 on penalties in the second round.
In the quarter-final they beat Oyster Bay United 1-0.
