ONE of our latest entrants, Hendrina Meiring, describes herself as a quiet person but was bold enough to enter the Round Table/Talk of the Town Miss Port Alfred contest.

The 18-year-old was born Graaff-Reinet and while she was still a toddler, she moved to Elliot.

In 1999 when she was five she moved to Bathurst and stayed for a couple of months, then in early 2000 moved to Port Alfred.

For her primary years of schooling Hendrina attended at Port Alfred Primary School and is now in Grade 11 at Port Alfred High School.

"I enjoy reading, hanging out with my friends and going to the beach during my spare time” said Hendrina.

"I also like baking and playing netball,” she added.

Hendrina's primary goal after high school is to become a beautician.

"I am rather a quiet person but I like helping out others, especially if my friends need advice I'm always happy to help out,” she told TotT.

Hendrina mentioned that she once entered Miss Port Alfred High School and although she didn't get very far in the contest she had a lot of fun.

"I entered Miss Port Alfred because I want to do something different and also have new experiences,” she said.
