THOUSANDS of Nelson Mandela Bay pupils will return to schools without electricity, windows, security gates and taps tomorrow. Criminals have stripped the schools of anything made of metal or of value during the six-week summer holiday.
The schools are now faced with thousands of rands in extra costs they have not budgeted for.
Principals and caretakers said yesterday criminals targeted schools over the holidays, stripping them of items such as taps and copper wire, security gates and sinks, for sale to scrap metal dealers.
