IT is all systems go as thousands of excited schoolchildren – and some who are not so enthusiastic – prepare for the new academic year which start in the Eastern Cape tomorrow.
The Education Department, school principals and parents have all declared they are prepared.
At the same time, the majority of stores in Nelson Mandela Bay are trying their best to meet the demand by stocking extra stationery as some parents do last-minute shopping.
Education spokesman Malibongwe Mtima said teams had been deployed in the 23 provincial districts to monitor and assist schools.
