Low risk of load-shedding

ELECTRICITY supply is expected to remain constrained but stable for the rest of the festive season‚ with only a low risk of load-shedding‚ Eskom says.

However‚ the utility warned yesterday that the system remained vulnerable and any extra load or faults in the system could require load-shedding.

The utility said it continued to make progress with its programme of planned maintenance.

It called on all South Africans to pull together in the next few months by using electricity sparingly.

"We urge South Africans to partner with us to save 10% of their electricity usage during the day. This will make it easier to manage the power system and enable maintenance," it said. – I-Net
