Plett rage ready for blackouts

MATRICS may be in the dark as to what they want to do next, but when it comes to the Plett Rage, the future is always bright.

And thanks to assurances from party organisers, not even Eskom's load-shedding will dim their party plans, as back-up generators have been put in place at key venues around the holiday mecca.

Matrics from all over South Africa will flock to Plettenberg Bay from today as one of the biggest teen festivals in the country begins.

But recent load-shedding due to a power grid on the brink of collapse has caused concern among parents.

They fear that if the coastal holiday town is plunged into darkness it could cause chaos, especially at party venues where hundreds of youngsters are set to gather.

But Plett Rage director Anthony Jacobs said load-shedding had been taken into consideration and a contingency plan was in place.
