School started for radio and TV

A BROADCAST school was launched in Port Elizabeth yesterday to help aspiring students find their feet in the industry.

The school is the brainchild of AlgoaFM managing director Dave Tiltmann and weekend presenter Tove Kane.

"It has always been [Tiltmann's] dream to start a broadcasting school and I like to train and give back to the community," Kane said.

Each class will be restricted to a minimum of 10 students.

It will comprise 10 interactive two-hour sessions at the AlgoaFM studios.

The five-week, R5000 course will be divided into introduction, intermediate and professional categories.

"The school is not just for aspirant radio or TV broadcasters, but ideal for anyone who wants to enhance their vocal ability," Kane said. – Hendrick Mphande
