Cops help boy, 6, realise his dream

A PORT Elizabeth boy with a dream of being a police officer yesterday chased an armed robber in a high-speed car pursuit with members of the Flying Squad, Air Wing and K9 unit.

Sange Mba, 6, of Missionvale, who has a lifethreatening illness which his family declined to disclose, was thrilled at becoming a police officer for a day thanks to the Reach for a Dream Foundation and the SAPS in Port Elizabeth.

As a real-life enactment, police chased a "robber" with sirens blaring and blue lights flashing.

Sange – sporting a toy baton, handcuffs and a police vest – chased the man with the assistance of his partner, Warrant Officer Rigby Mitchell, the Police Air Wing, Flying Squad and the K9 dog unit.
