Curtain falls on successful annual expo

THE curtain came down yesterday on three days of family fun at The Herald First Choice Kids & Baby Expo.

Organiser of the annual fair at the Moffett on Main Lifestyle Centre's basement, Linda Harwood, said: "We've really had fantastic support and positive feedback from the public. The exhibitors have also unanimously reported a brisk trade in business."

She said although she could not yet provide a final figure on visitors, she was confident it was an increase on last year.

Announcing the three exhibitors who came out tops for the best stand awards, she said the judging panel had chosen the winners because they were able to accommodate both parents and children in their displays.

Taking home gold for the best stand award were first-timers Sanlam. The stand, manned by a team of advisers from Greenacres Office Park, stole the show by incorporating activities which were suitable for the parents and children. "Our goal was obviously to win, but as first-timers we could not have known we'd actually win.

"We tried to make our stand as interactive as possible," team leader Michelle Prinsloo said.

Another first-time expo exhibitor, Jana Rademeyer, who owns Nestling Place, received second prize, and the Woodridge College and Preparatory schools secured third spot.
