‘Politicians have no regard for education crisis’

POLITICIANS do not value education and have presided over a learning crisis in South Africa, according to Free State University vice-chancellor and rector Professor Jonathan Jansen.
He said he hoped his students were not watching the “cr*p going on in parliament”, adding later that MPs’ behaviour in the House of Assembly was a disgrace.
Speaking at the Master Builders South Africa annual congress at the Boardwalk Conference Centre in Port Elizabeth yesterday, the outspoken Jansen said: “Your leaders are people who do not know how to speak to each other in parliament.
