Sex crimes mom to be sentenced

A FOSTER mother convicted of sex crimes against her 13-year-old foster daughter appeared briefly in the Port Elizabeth High Court yesterday ahead of sentencing.

The 41-year-old woman of Parsonsvlei, Port Elizabeth, has been found guilty of consensual sexual penetration of a child, consensual sexual violation of a child, displaying pornographic material to a child, failure to report a rape and unlawful possession of child pornography related to her foster daughter.

Her 40-year-old boyfriend was convicted of rape, sexual assault, showing pornography to a child and the possession of child pornography.

The court heard that the woman had arrived in the city yesterday from East London where she is being incarcerated. Arrangements were made for her to be held at the Mount Road police station ahead of sentencing today. – Lee-Anne Butler
