THE showpiece Red Location Museum in New Brighton, Port Elizabeth, which has been closed for nine months, is set to reopen following a move to address issues surrounding faulty RDP housing.

This comes after contractors were finally appointed to address the grievances of disgruntled community members and assess and rectify their crumbling homes.

Protesters had threatened violence and forced the closure of the museum because of their anger over money invested in the facility while their RDP housing predicament remained unchanged.

The exact date of the reopening of the museum will only be established after visits by the contractors who will meet community representatives. - Jerome Cornelius
