Tik haul seized at roadblock

TWO men were arrested for allegedly transporting R66000 worth of tik yesterday during a routine roadblock on the R102 between Thornhill and Jeffreys Bay.

Police say both men live in Humansdorp.

The roadblock consisted of police as well as provincial and Humansdorp traffic officials.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei said the Opel Kadett was pulled over during a routine stop and search operation.

"On searching the car five bags containing uncut tik were found under a wheel arch."

The men, aged 40 and 42, are due to appear in the Humansdorp Magistrate's Court today. – Gareth Wilson
