Six armed men rob Korsten business

SIX armed men are on the run after robbing a business in Korsten, Port Elizabeth, yesterday morning.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said a white bakkie pulled up in front of the United Cash and Carry entrancein Jackson Street at about 10am.

"Four of the gunmen entered the shop while two remained outside on the back of the bakkie.

"The four in the shop demanded cash before forcing the cashiers to empty their tills," he said.

"The men threatened to shoot the staff if they did not comply."

The money was handed over and the robbers ran out of the shop, and jumped on the back of the bakkie, Labans said.– Gareth Wilson
