Kabuso report legal action drags on

THE Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has set aside at least R2-million to pursue legal action against those implicated in the controversial Kabuso forensic report in a bid to recover millions owed in rates and service charges. However, more than three years after the Kabuso report was handed over to the municipality, there has been virtually no progress made by the city to institute litigation proceedings. City manager Mpilo Mbambisa only gave the legal services department the go-ahead last month to institute legal proceedings. And the task team, meant to drive the Kabuso implementation plan, has only met twice since February 2012. - Rochelle de Kock
