A PORT Elizabeth woman with a rare ear condition will have an expensive scan this week to determine the severity of her condition.

The South African ambassador in Rome, Tembi Tambo, has offered to pay the R6000 so Angelique Glass can have the scan.

Glass's father-in-law, Barry Glass, said they had been in touch with Tambo, daughter of the late ANC stalwart Oliver Tambo, and sent her the doctor's details for payment.

They have booked the scan for later this week. - Estelle Ellis
