Rosedale residents angered by ongoing disruptions

ROSEDALE residents in Uitenhage have been subjected to lengthy and sporadic water cuts for the last few weeks, without any warning or explanation.

The frustrated residents in Cygnet, Heron and Tinktinkie streets in Rosedale, and a few streets in neighbouring Mountain View, first noticed the problem about a month ago when their taps ran dry during the mornings.

Heron Street resident Leewyn Boschman said the water supply often only returned at about 5pm.

"How are we supposed to do anything without water? It is freezing in the mornings and we have to send our children out into that cold to fetch buckets of water from communal taps so we can do things like washing, laundry and dishes," Boschman said. - Tremaine van Aardt
