THREE Kwazakhele men convicted of a double murder will learn their fate next Friday when they are sentenced in the Port Elizabeth High Court.

In December, Judge Nomatamsanqa Beshe convicted Zwalandile Matiwane, 31, Nyaniso Sikhuni, 24, and Bulelani Ngemtu, 21, on two charges of murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances and one charge of attempted murder.

Beshe also found Matiwane guilty of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

She found that the three men hijacked a Toyota Corolla jikileza taxi driven by Mxolisi Mafukwana on July 5 2008. The men shot and killed Mafukwana and then also fatally wounded another passenger who boarded the taxi, Wele Jimmy Mantile. - Lee-Anne Butler
