Parents in row with school opt to keep children away

THE parents of three pupils at Parsons Hill Primary School who were banned from the premises following a bitter wrangle with staff have decided to keep their children out of school because they fear for their safety.

The couple said they were scared to send their children to school after a staff member took photos of the mother as she dropped the children off on Tuesday.

The couple fell out of favour with the school after what had started out as concern about their 10-year-old son's inability to write in cursive grew into a series of verbal clashes between the boy's mother and teacher.

Provincial and district education officials are probing the matter and the parents say until there is some common ground reached, they fear their issues with the school will be taken out on their children. - Zandile Mbabela
