Bay seeks director for tough tender job

THE Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is searching for a new head for the city's beleaguered supply chain management department after former director Babalwa Ntlama resigned barely a year into the job.

Ntlama's replacement will have the difficult task of turning around the tender department, which has repeatedly been rapped over the knuckles by the auditor-general for not properly managing internal controls.

The department has also been blamed for slowing down infrastructure contracts in the Bay because tender committees do not meet as regularly as they should. - Rochelle de Kock
