Masualle likely to be unopposed as Eastern Cape premier

WHILE Eastern Cape ANC leaders have tasked government officials with nominating a requisite two candidates to stand against their boss Phumulo Masualle for the premier post, the party unanimously agreed yesterday that they were happy with him heading the administration for the next five years.

The officials have up until tomorrow to come up with the two candidates before ANC provincial executive committee (PEC) members go to the ruling party's national headquarters, Luthuli House, to present their premier candidates on Saturday. - Mkhululi Ndamase
