Transnet to fix homes damaged by port strikers

TRANSNET will repair the homes of non-striking Ngqura container terminal workers damaged by their striking colleagues last week.

The homes of several workers were petrol-bombed and stoned in 16 violent attacks, allegedly by National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (Numsa) workers, since April 25.

Eastern Cape Terminals general manager Siyabulela Mhlaluka said yesterday the company had undertaken to repair the damaged houses of all those who chose not to strike. – Yoliswa Sobuwa
