Bay gets 52000 flu shots

PORT Elizabeth has received 52000 units of flu vaccine from the Eastern Cape Health Department to immunise vulnerable patients before winter.
Department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said pregnant women would be prioritised, as would those with cardiac disease, chronic lung disease or diabetes, HIV-positive people, those with compromised immunity, and those over 65.
Kupelo said 46 000 units of the vaccine would also be sent to Mthatha. – Estelle Ellis
