Motown show will start new chapter in Maranatha kids' lives

YOUNGSTERS from the Maranatha Street Kids Centre are in for a special treat this weekend as Port Elizabeth's award-winning vocal group Chapter 3 is giving them tickets to their Sounds of Motown show.

Maranatha, in Forest Hill, is home to 34 destitute children between the ages of five and 19 from impoverished areas in Port Elizabeth and small towns such as Joubertina and Jansenville.

Most of these youngsters come from homes where they were severely abused – often left hungry for days, with no or minimal chance of survival. - Alvené du Plessisn sent."
