He’s in a safer place now – grieving Helenvale mom

AS heartbreaking as it was burying her young son at the weekend, Lucelle Pieterse left the Bethelsdorp cemetery comforted by the fact that he was in “a safe place” and no longer in the heart of Nelson Mandela Bay’s gangland.
Luchen, 5, was shot in the head last Sunday in a gang-related incident while his mother was at work.
After a week of mourning, with family, friends and neighbours pouring in to offer their condolences and prayers following Luchen’s senseless death, Pieterse, 24, stood strong on Saturday and hardly shed a tear at the little boy’s massive funeral. - Zandile Mbabela
