Thatch roof entry for St Francis intruder

THE long arm of the law is on the hunt for the long legs of an intruder who broke into the home of a St Francis Bay octogenarian while she was in the bathroom early this week.

The traumatised 84-year-old woman, who is not named for security reasons, was sitting on the toilet in her Assisi Drive home on Monday at about 7.40pm when legs pushed through the thatched roof above her. She ran out of the bath- room and managed to lock the door from the outside, before pressing a panic button and calling the police.

The intruder tried to bash down the bathroom door but failed. However, he was gone, presumably back through the roof, when police and security arrived. – Shaun Gillham
