Steenkamp planned valentine's meal

Reeva Steenkamp planned to cook for murder accused Oscar Pistorius on Valentine's Day, revealed WhatsApp messages read to the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday (25/03/2014).

"Baby can i cook for you on Thursday?" read police data analyst Captain Francois Moller at the request of Pistorius's defence Barry Roux, SC.

In the message sent on February 11 last year, Steenkamp asks Pistorius what he might eat that week and one of Pistorius replies is: "I'd love that, nunu."

Pistorius has admitted shooting Steenkamp dead in the toilet leading off his bedroom, saying he thought there was an intruder in there when he fired four shots.

She died in his house in the early hours of February 14 2013.

Roux sought to show that "more than 90 percent" of their text exchanges were loving, despite four messages that reflected an argument between them.

Another message Moller was asked to read was sent on February 11 at 10pm from Pistorius to Steenkamp: "I miss you one more than you miss me always" to which she replied: "Impossible".

Roux broke the solemnity of hearing her last messages by sparking giggles with his addition of "kiss kiss kiss" to indicate the three crosses at the end of some of their messages.

Pistorius has been charged with the premeditated murder of Steenkamp and of contravening the Firearms Control Act.

He allegedly fired a shot from a Glock pistol under a table at a Johannesburg restaurant in January 2013.

On September 30, 2012 he allegedly shot through the open sunroof of a car with his 9mm pistol while driving with friends in Modderfontein.

He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. - Sapa
