East Cape starts HPV vaccination of pupils

NEARLY 200 Eastern Cape girls received the human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine yesterday as part of a national drive which started in Bloemfontein on Wednesday.

Eastern Cape Health Department spokesman Sizwe Kupelo said the department had divided 1000 health workers into teams that would visit schools around the province to immunise the girls.

He said 178 girls had already been immunised. "Our teams are in Port Elizabeth already."
