Form deadline for expats

THOUSANDS of South Africans living or working overseas have until midnight to fill in their VEC 10 forms, or they will not be allowed to vote, even if they are registered voters. According to the Electoral Commission, the VEC 10 form is to declare the voter’s intention to vote on April 30 this year at a South African embassy, high commission or consulate-general abroad.

The form is also to indicate where they would like to vote. The form can be obtained from the commission’s website and has to be completed within 15 days from the day elections are proclaimed. – Thulani Gqirana
