Inconsiderate taxi drivers frustrate Bay motorists

DRIVING home from class is a nightmare for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) part time student Laryn Lee Maclean, who believes the taxis that constantly stop in front of The Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment World are an accident waiting to happen.

Maclean, 22, who drives the route five days a week, said it was the most frustrating part of her day.

"You have to be constantly ready for the taxis to just stop in front of you, with no regard for other drivers."

For years, fed up Port Elizabeth drivers have voiced their frustrations with the Summerstrand taxi drivers, a problem that Ward 2 councillor Dean Biddulph feels should have been addressed a long time ago. -
