Church members asked to help end five-year feud

PRESBYTERIAN Church of Africa (PCA) president Mkhuseli Dukwana yesterday called on all church members to come together and resolve matters that have plagued the church over the past few years.

Dukwana was accompanied by PCA secretary Reverend Mziwethu Vakala, senior minister Lungile Nukani and ex-moderator Mofokeng Mokabo at the peace talks in Kwa Ndokwenza. The church has been at the centre of a five-year battle for control between Mokabo and Reverend Amos Mpulu. Mpulu's group was not part of the meeting.

The feuding groups have deadlocked on an overturned court order. The order, which prevented Mokabo from performing church duties, was dismissed late last year but that decision is being ignored by Mpulu's group, who have applied for leave to appeal against it. -
