Career gurus give high school prefects a boost

NELSON Mandela Bay high school prefects will today gather at the Feather Market Centre for a leadership summit in which they will get tips from business and leadership gurus holding top positions in their respective fields.

This forms part of a three-day career exhibition, which started yesterday, where matriculants will be equipped with essential experience in their desired profession and build leadership skills

Former Miss PE and businesswoman Chuma Sipuka and entrepreneurial development company Raizcorp's Steven Reid are among the speakers who will address the seminar.

The exhibition aims to create awareness, personal insight into careers, study training, leadership development and open future paths for Grade 12 leaders.

Volkswagen South Africa, Coega, Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, Department of Education and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University will play an active role in the event in which numerous schools will be attending.

Inkanyezi Events communication design manager Aimee de la Harpe said the exhibition sought to create an enriching experience and was a fine way to sharpen their knowledge on how the working world operated.

"It further assists them in making informed personal and career decisions that would contribute to nation-building," she said.

Numerous spot prizes will be included as well as sponsored exhibition packs for each of the prefects who attend. -
