'Hollow promises' from EFF

THE Economic Freedom Fighters' election manifesto contains striking similarities with the ANC one, but makes many more extreme promises.
The EFF manifesto, which the party launched in Mehlareng Stadium in Tembisa, East Rand, on Saturday, seemed to be not only an appeal to Julius Malema's disenfranchised members, but also traditional ANC supporters – those in rural areas and townships, which are experiencing a wave of service delivery protests.
Malema promised hefty increases in social grants and radical economic reforms to fund his manifesto.
