Best performing councils honoured

RESIDENTS of the Senqu local municipality live in the best-governed part of the entire Eastern Cape, after winning six categories in last night's Vuna awards for municipal service excellence.
Senqu comprises Lady Grey, Barkly East, Sterkspruit, Rhodes, Rossouw, Herschel and surrounding rural areas.
"We want to inspire confidence in our administration while we celebrate service excellence in our province," Local Government and Traditional Affairs MEC Mlibo Qoboshiyane, who presented the awards at the Boardwalk Convention Centre, said.
